Bernard Herrmann était un compositeur de musique de film américain dont les partitions ont défini le genre du film noir. Il est surtout connu pour ses collaborations avec Alfred Hitchcock sur des films emblématiques comme "Psycho", dont la bande originale, avec ses cordes stridentes, est devenue légendaire. Herrmann a également composé pour "Vertigo" et "North by Northwest".
