Remastered reissue from the original tapes on 180 gram black vinyl: Queen II was originally released in 1974. Recorded in 1973 at Trident Studios in London, it was co-produced by Roy Thomas Baker, Rolin Cable and mixed by Mike Stone. Upon its release, it remained on the UK charts for 29 weeks, including 11 consecutive weeks where it reached number five on the UK bestseller charts. Although critical reviews were mixed towards Queen II, and despite the fact that it remained for a long time the lesser-known album, it has retained a certain cult following following praise from artists such as Axl Rose, Billy Corgan and Steve Vai. Today, Queen II is seen as a very significant album both in the history of music and in the career of the band. They do not hesitate to demonstrate their versatility in Rock, Heavy Metal and even Progressive Rock, while exposing the basis of what will become over time their unique sound rich in orchestrated guitar arrangements, saturation of multitrack recordings and vocal harmonies.
