An admirer of Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry , Johnny Hallyday has established himself as the only true French rocker. Adored for his repertoire, his charisma and his stage presence, this monument draws crowds. Bercy, Parc des Princes, Stade de France ... Thus, he goes as far as bringing together 400,000 people at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, to mark the entry into the new millennium.
Following a battle with lung cancer, Johnny Hallyday died at his home in Marnes la Coquette on the night of Tuesday 5 to Wednesday 6 December 2017. Whether he was adored or mocked, Johnny Hallyday was a legend in his own right. Indeed, he was only 14 years old when he discovered rock by seeing "Lovin' You" with Elvis Presley.
From then on, he ran the clubs before being noticed by a producer and recording his first 45 in 1960. It was "T'aimer follement" which was followed by the famous "Souvenirs souvenirs".
The following year, he launched into the twist, seducing an increasingly large audience and then becoming "The idol of the young", a title he sang at that time.
