May 68 was not only their subject but even more their project, that of a collective cinema, an integral part of History. Rarely shown, or even hidden, these films are invaluable. Cinematographic archives of the movement, they tell its working-class, peasant and even immigrant aspects. Frédéric Joignot is a journalist, essayist, novelist and magazine creator. In 1980, he participated with Jean François Bizot in the creation of the monthly reporting magazine Actuel. He was a reporter there for 7 years then editor-in-chief from 1988 to 1994.
