Ah! The lovely month of May 68

Committed, insurgent and above all united: in 68, filmmakers filmed at the heart of the struggles, from within the events themselves. May 68 was not only their subject but even more their project, that of a collective cinema, an integral part of History. Rarely shown, or even hidden, these films are invaluable. Cinematographic archives of the movement, they tell its working-class, peasant and even immigrant aspects. Works of inspired operators, these films marked the apogee of direct cinema, a spring of cinema whose shock wave would last ten years.
