The Rolling Stones
Their music, inspired by rock and roll of course but also by blues, country and folk, commands respect and admiration. Thousands of albums sold, millions of groupies and gigantic concerts, the Rolling Stones have entered into legend. Michael Philip Jagger and Keith Richards associated with Brian Jones, Mick Avory and Dick Taylor, chose their stage name: the Rolling Stones, inspired by the title of Muddy Waters, "Rollin' Stone Blues".
Mick Avory and Dick Taylor quickly left the group and were replaced by Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman. Together, they would "make their mark" in London clubs before recording their first 45, a cover of Chuck Berry.
With their stage presence and their sulphurous image, the Rolling Stones gained notoriety, in England naturally (they appeared in total opposition to the wise Beatles), but also in the United States, which reserved the best reception for their covers of American standards. The group even allowed itself the luxury of opening for James Brown and John Lee Hooker.
In 1969
The Stones took a new turn with the departure of Brian Jones. Officially he wanted to focus on his solo career, unofficially he had a serious drug addiction. Mick Taylor was chosen to replace him.
Accustomed to being in the news for their escapades, the Stones now intend to make their mark only for their musical talents.
In 1973
It is the biggest success of their career, "Angie", a ballad written for Angela Bowie. With the success of "Start me up", the international concerts follow one after the other, always more grandiose, always more gigantic.
In 2002
After a four-decade reign over rock, the Rolling Stones released "Forty Licks". The album brought together some of their global hits and demonstrated the group's evolution. The tour that followed was the most profitable of all time. Given the phenomenal success of these shows, the group returned the following year. Thus, the Rolling Stones once again filled the Stade de France in June.
In 2008
The Rolling Stones are making their mark thanks to Martin Scorcese who immortalizes one of their concerts from the "A Bigger Band" tour in the documentary film: "Shine a light", which is released in April.
Sans suit, numerous international tours to honor the fans and return with new albums until 2016.
