Samuel Blumenfeld is a film critic for the newspaper Le Monde and the author of several books.

Samuel Blumenfeld directed the Soul fiction collection at Editions de l'Olivier.

He is the author of "The Man Who Wanted to Be a Prince, the Imaginary Lives of Michal Waszynski" (Grasset, 2006), of a biography "Michal Waszynski", filmmaker who made The Dybbuk in 1937.

A specialist in American cinema, he published "Brian de Palma" with Laurent Vachaud, a book of interviews with the filmmaker (Calmann-Lévy, 2001).
