AL PACINO - LE GRAND JEU

Author

Ludovic Girard

Trained at the Gabriel Fauré Conservatory and then at the Atelier International of Blanche Salant and Paul Weaver, Ludovic Girard then participated in various shows as an actor (Histoire d'Amour (Lagarce), Partenaires (Mamet), The Wrong Men (Bélaïsch)), or director (Sous Les Jupes des Filles (Badal), Art (Reza), Pourquoi on se dispute (Karl Valentin)), most often on contemporary texts. He also worked for television (Léa Parker series) and in cinema under the direction of Edgardo Cozarinsky (Dans le Rouge du Couchant, 2003) and Aymeric Mesa Juan (Les Liens, 2007).

In 1999, he wrote a bio-filmography on Al Pacino, which allowed him to delve into the world of Italian-American filmmakers of the 70s. Very interested in the pedagogy of acting, he participated in a Franco-American program between 2005 and 2007 on the technique of Sanford Meisner and he then worked on this approach under the direction of Larry Silverberg. He regularly leads acting workshops in different theater companies and for the "L'œil écoute" festival in Rochefort, since 2006.

In 2009, he directed Sans le Moins Répit, a comedy about the chaotic day of a director betrayed on all sides. The film, winner of the Beaumarchais Foundation, is included in the RADI (alternative broadcasting network) catalogue. In 2013, he wrote Cuisine à Domicile with Christophe de Mareuil, a play created at the Théâtre l'Archipel in Paris. As an actor, he played in Raphaële Moussafir's film, Le Cadavre du Père Noël bouge encore, broadcast on Canal +. In 2014, he finished Le Cinéma du Dimanche Soir, with Lyes Salem in the role of Nico.

Ludovic has been collaborating with the film magazine Sofilm since 2018, with various articles on the New Hollywood. He is participating in a writing residency at Groupe Ouest for his first feature film and his next film, Paris-Bordeaux, is currently in development.
